jam

aime jam and your information

This is for pupils, and for their parents and carers. You do not have to click or sign anything.

What you tell us

  • Only the name you type when you join a lesson. Your teacher sees it on their screen.
  • You do not have an account, an email address or a password.

What we keep for your teacher

  • Your answers to the quiz and the exit ticket.
  • Your homework, when you hand it in.
  • The questions you ask your teacher, and when you raise your hand.
  • Drawings you make on a shared board. They are deleted when the activity ends, unless your teacher saves one.

Your teacher can see these. Other pupils cannot. The class only sees what your teacher shows on the board.

What stays on your device

Your laptop, tablet or phone keeps some things in its browser, so you can carry on if the Wi-Fi drops:

  • A code that shows you joined the lesson on this device.
  • Your settings: colours, text size, tone and language. These never leave your device.
  • Your workbook progress and the tips you have seen. Answers waiting to send stay here until they are sent.
  • The take-home packs you open, and the pictures and audio you choose to save, are kept in this browser so they open with no internet. Press Remove from this device on a take-home page to clear them, or clear the browser's data.

If you share a device, the next person may see your name and answers. Clearing the browser's data removes all of this.

Take-home links

A take-home link names the class and the lesson. It never names you.

Leo, the study coach

If your school uses Leo, you can chat with Leo about a take-home lesson. Leo is an AI computer program, not a person. What you type is sent to the AI that aime runs, and Leo does not know your name. Your chat is deleted when you finish. If something you write suggests you may not be safe, Leo tells you who can help, and your teacher is told. The chat is then kept for 30 days so your teacher can help. You can report any reply from Leo.

No tracking

These pages have no adverts. They do not track you, and they set no analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

Your name, questions and answers from a lesson or set work are deleted 90 days after it ends, or sooner if your teacher or school deletes that lesson. Class votes and take-home quiz results are kept only as totals that do not name anyone. aime uses totals like these, which never name anyone, only to make its lessons better.

If you have a question

Ask your teacher.

For parents and carers

Your child's school decides how aime jam is used, and aime runs it for the school. If your child's teacher teaches independently, not through a school, the teacher decides instead. To see, correct or delete what is held about your child, or to ask about consent, contact the school, or the teacher if there is no school.
